# How creator matching works

> You do not search for creators or pick them one by one.

You do not search for creators or pick them one by one. When your video brief is ready, Stllr recommends the video to creators who fit it, and a creator joins. This page explains what happens and what to expect.

## Step by step

1. **You submit the video brief.** The video enters matching.
2. **Stllr recommends it to fitting creators.** The matching engine compares your brief — niche, country, language, and your preferences such as gender and age range — against creator profiles. The Stllr team can also recommend your video to specific creators.
3. **Creators see it** in their Explore page and review the brief.
4. **A creator joins.** Before joining they review the requirements and accept the terms.
5. **Your video is assigned.** The video page shows the creator and the project chat opens.

Once you submit the brief, your video shows **Matching you with the right creators** until a creator joins.

## What affects your matches

| Factor | Effect |
| - | - |
| **Niche and country** | Creators are recommended based on these two first. |
| **Language and dialect** | Creators who speak the language you choose. |
| **Gender, age range** | Narrow the pool. Available on higher video types. |
| **Creator KYC** | Limits creators to those with the required credential. |
| **Brief quality** | A clear, realistic brief is more attractive to creators. |

On the **Customize videos** page, the **Creators matches for your video** box shows how many creators currently fit, so you can adjust before you submit.

## What to expect

* **Timing depends on demand.** Creators join when they see a brief that fits. Matching can be quick for common niches and slower for narrow requirements.
* **Creators choose to join.** A creator can only take a limited number of active projects at once, so a brief may wait until a creator has capacity.
* **You are notified.** You receive a notification when a creator is assigned.
* **No fit found?** If we cannot find a good match, our team steps in to help.

## Premier

Premier works differently. Instead of waiting for creators to join, the Stllr team puts together a **curated list of creators** for your campaign and shares it with you. **You choose** the creators you want from that list, and the Stllr team assigns them to your videos.

This selection happens **outside the platform** — for example in conversation with your Stllr representative — so you will not see it in your video's matching status. See [How to join Stllr as a brand](/brands/getting-started/join-stllr).

## After a creator joins

* The creator may confirm an address if a product is involved. See [Ship a product to your creator](/brands/videos/product-shipping).
* The creator submits a script or starts filming. See [How UGC campaigns work on Stllr](/brands/getting-started/how-ugc-works).
* If the creator is not the right fit, you can change the creator. See [Resolve a problem with a creator](/brands/videos/creator-issues).

## Frequently asked questions

    Common reasons: your preferences are narrow (gender, age, language and country together), or there are few creators in your niche right now. Try loosening a preference in **Edit video details** (possible until a creator joins), or contact Stllr support and we will help.

    No. Stllr matches creators for you. If you have a concern about a creator after they join, you can change the creator.

    You see your creator's details once they are assigned to your video.

  <Accordion title="The creator I was matched with disappeared.">
    Creators can be removed from a video, for example if they miss the delivery deadline or the Stllr team reassigns them. Your video returns to matching. Contact Stllr support if you need help.
