# Define your videos

> The video brief is what the creator reads before filming.

The **video brief** is what the creator reads before filming. A clear brief means fewer edits and a faster result. You write one brief per video — or apply the same brief to many.

## Where to find it

After you pay, the **Customize videos** page opens. You can also open it later from the campaign page with **Edit video details**.

On the left you see the list of videos in your campaign. Select a video to fill in its brief. Your changes are **saved automatically** (**Saved in drafts**).

<Warning>
  **Saved is not submitted**

  Saving only keeps your work. A video is **not active for matching** until you **submit its brief** with **Apply to** at the bottom of the page. Until then, no creator can see or join it.
</Warning>

<Warning>
  **Locked once a creator joins**

  When a creator joins your video and accepts the brief, the brief **can no longer be edited**. Make sure it is complete and correct before you submit.
</Warning>

## Fields

Fields marked **\*** are required. Some fields only appear for certain video types, or in certain situations. They are marked in the **Shown** column.

| Field | What to enter | Shown |
| - | - | - |
| **Video name** \* | A name for your own reference, for example "Product unboxing". | Always |
| **What should creators do?** \* | The main instructions. Describe the scenes, product usage, and key message. | Always |
| **Content type** \* | The kind of video (for example review, unboxing, tutorial). | Always |
| **Tone of voice** \* | The feel of the video (for example casual, energetic). | Always |
| **Creator language** \* | The language the creator speaks. | Always |
| **Platform** \* | Where the video will be used (for example TikTok, Instagram, Snapchat). | Always |
| **Target duration** \* | How long the video should be. | Always |
| **Video format** \* | The aspect ratio or format. | Always |
| **References** | Links to videos or products you like. | Always |
| **Assets** | Logos, product photos, or files. | Always |
| **SKU** | Unique product identifiers, to help you track products. | Always |
| **Dialect** | The creator's dialect, if it matters. | ◆ Depends on video type |
| **City** | The creator's city. | ◆ Depends on video type |
| **Gender** | Male or female. | ◆ Depends on video type |
| **Age range** | Under 18, 18–30, or over 30. | ◆ Depends on video type |
| **Shooting location** | Where the video should be shot. | ◆ Depends on video type |
| **Special request** | Anything else the creator must know. | ◆ Depends on video type |
| **Product status** | **Gift** (the creator keeps it) or **Return required** (it must be sent back after the video). | ◆ Only when the product is shipped to the creator |

**◆** marks fields that do not appear on every video. If you do not see one, it is not part of that video's type.

The right side shows **Creators matches for your video** — how many creators fit your selections. Use it to see if your requirements are too narrow.

## Submit your videos (apply to)

Submitting is what starts matching. At the bottom, choose **Apply to**:

* **Apply to this video** — submits the brief for only the video you are editing.
* **Apply to videos in the same type** — submits this brief for every video of the same type that has not already been assigned to a creator.

Each submitted video enters matching. Videos you have not submitted stay as saved drafts and are not matched. This is also the fastest way to define many videos at once.

## Scripts

You decide who provides the script. You can provide it yourself and approve it so the creator follows it, or leave it to the creator, who submits their own after joining and reading your brief. See [Review a script](/brands/videos/review-scripts).

## Tips

* Be specific about **what the product does** and **what the creator should say or show**.
* Keep **references** relevant — one or two good examples beat many.
* Avoid conflicting requirements. A very narrow set of preferences can reduce the number of matching creators.
* Mention anything the creator **must not** do.

## Frequently asked questions

<AccordionGroup>
  <Accordion title="Can I edit the brief after a creator joined?">
    No. Once a creator joins and accepts the brief, it is locked. You can edit it any time before that using **Edit video details**. If you need to share something extra after a creator joined, send it in the project chat.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="What happens when I submit the brief?">
    The video becomes active for matching and creators can see it. Videos that are only saved are not matched. See [How creator matching works](/brands/campaigns/creator-matching).
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="Do I need to attach files?">
    No, but product photos and logos help the creator get it right the first time.
