# Link your TikTok or Instagram account

> If you signed up with email or Google, you can connect your TikTok or Instagram account from your settings at any time.

If you signed up with email or Google, you can connect your TikTok or Instagram account from your settings at any time. Linking a social account updates your follower count on Stllr and recalculates your creator level if applicable.

## Why link a social account

Your follower count is the basis of your creator level on Stllr, which directly affects:

* Which project types you are eligible for.
* How your pricing is set for influencer projects.
* How appealing your profile is to brands and the Stllr team.

Without a linked social account, your follower count is unknown and your creator level cannot be determined. This significantly limits your matching exposure and project eligibility.

## Steps

1. Go to your **account settings**.
2. Find the **Connected Accounts** section.
3. Select **Connect TikTok** or **Connect Instagram**.
4. Follow the OAuth login flow for the selected platform.
5. Once connected, your follower count is updated and your creator level is recalculated automatically.

## What gets updated

Linking a social account post-signup only updates the following:

| Creator level | Yes, recalculated based on new follower count |
| Username | No |
| Profile photo, name, bio, videos | No |

Profile data such as your name, bio, avatar, and work samples is only imported at the time of signup when using social SSO. Linking an account after signup does not retroactively fill in these fields.

## Instagram: Professional account required

Your Instagram account must be a **professional account** (creator or business type) to connect it to Stllr. If your account is personal, you will need to convert it to a professional account from within Instagram before the connection can be completed.

    Your follower count is updated continuously. Stllr periodically checks your linked social account for the latest follower count, so any changes to your followers (increases or decreases) will be reflected in your Stllr profile automatically over time. You do not need to manually refresh or relink your account to see updates.
